Block fifty six (the final one!): Fair and Square

Fair and square, that's all we ask. We ask that we are treated with honesty and respect and that equality is given to us fairly. Over 100 years since some women won the right to vote, we are still not equal and the workplace is still not fair and square.

And so to the final block, this was pretty simple, just triangles, squares and rectangles but it is a little fiddley as each small square measures 3.33cm when completed.

Sew together the triangles to make squares measuring 4.33cm (this includes the seam allowance). Press the seams. Then sew these squares together to make one large centre square.

You will now make the rows, for row one, sew two long purple blocks at opposite ends to the long green rectangle. Press seams.

For row two, sew as follows, one purple square, one green square, one cream rectangle, one green square and one purple square. Press seams.

For row three, sew a green rectangle block (long side) to a cream rectangle. Then sew your large centre square block to this. Finish by sewing this to another cream and green rectangle. Press seams.

For row four and five sew as row one and two. Press the seams. Pin the strips together one at a time, lining up each of the seams of both strips. Sew then press the seams.

56 blocks! We are finished..... well, not really, there are now inner boarders to do, outer boarders, corner squares, quilting, binding and finishing. Almost finished then...
