Block fifty three: Courthouse steps

Very similar to a log cabin pattern, this block is made out of lots of strips of fabric. I love the colours of this block and particularly the centre square with the fabulous Ruby Star Society fabric.

This felt a bit different from all the rest as it doesn't go on a square or triangle structure but it was a welcome break as I was nearing the end of my block creation.

Each strip is 2cm wide (3cm including seam allowance) and then the strips were lengthened each time a new one was added. This is where the bullet journal was helpful as it allowed me to know how long each strip should be (and then I added 1cm on as seam allowance).

You start with the square in the centre and sew the top and bottom strip and then you are away - keep adding strips until you have a full block measuring 20cm.
