Wild rose and square (or quiet defiance) is named after a woman in the book ladies can't climb ladders. The tricky thing here is that I am struggling to remember who! I listen to audio books whilst I sew as a way of being mindful but also multi-tasking. There was a woman in the book who regularly used to visit a square in London on her lovers birthday (after they died) and left a bunch of roses in the square. One year a policeman saw her and gave her a fine for littering so every year she would then still go to the square and 'accidentally' drop a rose petal in remembrance. Very sweet. Anyway this block is in remembrance of the woman - whoever she was!
